Roulette is a game played in casinos named for the French word"little wheel," which is thought to originate from the Italian game Biribi. The game is played by one can place a bet on one number, different groupings of numbers, the color black or red and whether the number is odd or even, or if the numbers are either high (19-36) or low (1-18). The croupier spins a wheel in one direction. The player then spins the ball in the opposite direction along a circular tilted track that is centered around the outer edge of the wheel to identify the winning numbers. When momentum is lost the ball is thrown through an arc of deflectors before falling on to the wheel. Anyone who places the bet successfully will receive the winnings.
